Your search
for wholesale suppliers ends inside…
Hello!
Finding legitimate wholesale
suppliers is about to get easier
Firstly I want to thank you for all your emails and the fabulous
feedback I’ve received over the past week about The Ultimate eBay Success System. As you know, your feedback is
really important to me because it helps me improve on the information I pass on to you and I love hearing about
your success stories – there have been a quite a few of those this week which is great to hear. Please keep your
feedback emails coming!
So, on the subject of feedback and emails and from the amount I
receive on a weekly basis asking me to help with product sourcing for one niche or another, it’s no big secret that
finding those often illusive eBay wholesale sources is sometimes the most challenging aspect of running an eBay
business. Indeed it was the part I found the most time-consuming and frustrating when I started my own eBay
business five years ago. It stands to reason that buying products for 50% or even less of their retail value and
selling them on at close to full price will dramatically increase your profit margins. And that’s all well and
good, but the big question is how do you actually go about finding these secret eBay wholesale sources? If they are
so secret then how can you possibly know where they are? You've
done your research so you know what you should be selling but where
do you find the actual products at prices cheap enough to make a profit on eBay?
If you are struggling to source products at wholesale prices to
resell on eBay then you’ll know what I’m talking about, but don’t worry because you are not
alone.
I’m sure you know the drill by now - you need a source of low
priced goods that are in demand that you can then sell on eBay for profit. It's not rocket science, and once you've
done it once, you can do it over and over with as many products as you want and have yourself a very nice
profitable business!
Many people (me included at the
beginning of my eBay career) jump straight onto the internet to start searching using generalised terms such as
‘best wholesalers’ or ‘eBay wholesale suppliers’, and whilst this is a perfectly acceptable way of finding
wholesale sources to suit your needs, the top results are likely to be in highly competitive markets and it’s
also likely it will simply take hours of time for you to find what you are looking for.
Wholesalers aren’t ‘hiding’ –
you just need to know where to look
Do you know, finding wholesalers is not
actually a difficult job at all! In fact, you may not be aware of this but there are likely to be loads of them
within a few miles of your own location!
Look, here’s one incredibly simple
method to get you started. It’s basic, but so often completely overlooked.
- Go to the Yellow Pages homepage at
Yell.com
- Enter the term ‘wholesale’ into the
search bar, along with your location
- Click the search
button
A list of wholesalers local to you will
be returned, split into different categories. If no results are returned just try broadening the location field
to your county rather than your town or city and you will start to become aware of the possibilities that many
people are missing.
Take
Costco for example. This is a massive, no-frills company with a string of cash and carry warehouses throughout
loads of different areas across the UK and
further afield too, so there’s almost certainly going to be one near you. This is exactly the type of wholesaler
that will be returned in your Yellow Pages search yet many people dismiss cash and carry warehouses because they
think, wrongly, that they supply only food and drink.
Costco in
fact sell high quality, branded and some private-label merchandise with a range that changes almost on a daily
basis including bedding, office products, toys, cameras and other electrical goods. Their low prices make their
range perfect for you to purchase and then resell on eBay. Now, you do need to be aware that there is a small
membership fee to join as with most cash and carry stores, and there is some criteria that you will need to
adhere to such as being able to supply proof of business trading (a business letterhead will be accepted though)
or if you haven’t got your business up and running yet, you can still join if you are a employed within (or you
know someone else who is employed within and who can join for you) a particular profession such as the Civil
Service, Police Force, Banking, Medical etc, so you shouldn’t have any trouble. What’s great too is that they
open really early in the morning and stay open late at night so you can pay them a visit outside of the usual
working hours if necessary.
This is exactly the type of supplier
that you should be considering if you are starting up your eBay business and are embarking on your first
wholesaler search and one that you should check out if you already have an established eBay business and want to
locally source quality products. Don’t feel that you should immediately start looking at International suppliers
for your wholesale goods. It’s true that you will be able to find some incredibly cheap products in China and
the USA that you can sell on for a massive profit – I use international suppliers all the time - but you should
also be aware that some companies offering goods, especially brand name goods are actually only offering cheap
imitations or worst case scenario, they do not actually have the goods at all. Buying from overseas is a great
way to make money once you know what you are doing and you know how to source a quality product from a reliable
company, but when you are just starting out you might find it more convenient to search a little closer to
home.
And there are also distinct advantages
to utilising these eBay wholesale sources that are local to you. You can build a face to face relationship with
your supplier and you can go to a physical location and see and handle the products that you are buying before
committing to purchase. It’s true; you won’t be able to source goods for as low a price as you might have, had
you gone overseas or to purely online wholesalers (though you’d be surprised what a little haggling and an offer
to buy in bulk can achieve), but sourcing locally is a good introduction to researching and sourcing wholesalers
on your route to eBay success.
Wholesale sources revealed
So, with this sourcing strategy
in mind, this week to help you further, I want to tell you a little bit about a brilliant source that has
helped me find some really excellent wholesale suppliers. I’ve actually been using this source of information
for some time now but a couple of weeks ago, I received the new updated edition and I’ve been spending some
time checking out the suppliers to see what they are offering so that I can give you my opinion.
First though, I want to reassure
you that this source is totally up to date so you don’t need to worry about outdated information or links
that don’t work or anything like that! I wouldn’t recommend it if it wasn’t up to scratch!
What am I going on about? Well,
now into its third edition and including hundreds of reputable, legitimate wholesalers, I’m talking
about The Secret Source
Directory.
I want to tell you about this
because it’s absolutely bursting at the seams with little known wholesale sources, secret shops, invisible
websites that even Google can’t find, auctions, sources of repossessed goods, overstocks, liquidation
merchandise – the list is endless and to be honest I refer to this directory pretty much on a daily basis
now, and not just when I need new wholesale sources for my eBay business, but also in my personal life too to
ensure I get the best deals whatever I’m buying! Holidays, household stuff, cars – it’s all
there!
I’m not joking – The Secret
Source Directory gives you the actual contact names, numbers, addresses and website details
for loads of sources that you would have difficulty finding under your own steam. These secret sources are perfect for you if you are thinking of selling on eBay
or are already selling and want to add to your product inventory or if you have your own website and want to
increase your stock levels with some high quality, high margin goods and as I’ve said, it’s also really useful
if you want to get a bargain holiday, a cut price kitchen or discounted furniture and such
like.
Here’s a
taster of the kind of information you’ll get:
-
Dozens of non-listed phone numbers for wholesalers and suppliers
-
How to get your hands on brand new appliances, kitchen and
computer goods
-
Secret vouchers that guarantee you will get a good deal on loads
of products
-
Contact information for wholesale websites that aren’t listed in
the search engines
-
Confidential import
sources
-
Direct contact information for overruns, samples, catalogue returns and end-of-line goods...
There’s loads of other
stuff too and it’s all set out in a really simple way that’s easy to refer to. Everything is categorised, so if you
are looking for a clothing wholesaler for example, simply go to the trade contacts section and look under
‘Clothing’ where you will find a huge list of contact details. It’s the same with books, cosmetics and many more
popular eBay selling niches.
Everything is in
alphabetical order and there are a wealth of tips along the way for you too such as ‘safe sourcing’ which is a
great bonus. Seriously, I could go on about this for ages because it’s such a useful source and there’s loads I
haven’t mentioned here, so why don’t you take a look for yourself. You can get all the details you need over
at The Secret Source Directory.
As you know, I will
never recommend anything that I haven’t tried myself and this definitely lives up to its
name.
As always I wish you
the very best of success,
Amanda
