Newsletter
"In this week's eBay Powersellers
Secrets Newsletter learn Amanda's simple recipe for eBay
success."
Hello!
Because lots of
my Newsletter Subscribers are new to selling on eBay, I
was thinking about how I could give you some extra
motivation.
I want to show
you that you can earn a really healthy income from eBay.
I could explain to you until I'm blue in the face that it
is possible and show you lots of diagrams and figures,
but I thought you might be interested in learning a
little bit about how I actually started selling on eBay
and how I built up my
income.
With two young children to look
after, I wanted a flexible job that I could manage from home,
but I knew nothing about selling on eBay at the start. However,
in a very short time, I became a very successful eBay
Powerseller and now I would love to teach you exactly how to
make money on eBay.
You know that you are not going
to start from scratch and suddenly be earning £2,500 in a week
or two's time (this should be your goal 6 - 9 months down the
line), but it is entirely possible with only a small amount of
effort to earn £350 a week within just a few weeks and then you
simply build up an inventory of hot selling products that all
make you money until you reach the income you want. So here is
a little insight into how I did it - you just need to do the
same.
Ok, I started really simply, by
listing just one product on a Buy It Now multiple quantity
listing at £12.99 plus £2.99 postage and packing. I made a
clear profit on this product (this is after I had taken off my
eBay and PayPal fees, stock cost and postage costs) of just
over £8.00. So that's the kind of profit you should be looking
at for each of your products.
My rule was always that it's
not worth the trouble if you can't make a profit of at least
£5.00 per sale (although I have broken this rule once or twice
over the years, but more on that another time!).
So, I had one this one product
listed and every time one sold I made £8.00! Then I worked out
that if I wanted to make £350 a week profit with just one
product, I would need to sell roughly 44 items per
week.
That sounds like quite a lot
doesn't it!
But actually it's not, because
when you break it down further, you'll see that I actually only
needed to sell roughly 6 or 7 a day to reach that £350
target!
Six or seven sales in a day are
totally achievable in a marketplace like eBay. Remember, you
only need those 6 or 7 sales from the millions of potential
buyers that are visiting the site!
What's more, on average I was
selling between 17 and 26 of my very first product EVERY DAY!
The record number of sales was on Tuesday 12th August 2008 when
I sold 32! That's £256 profit in ONE DAY! (I haven't managed to
beat that figure yet!)
So you get the general idea
-
List your first product and aim
to sell around 7 of that product per day at a profit of about
£6.50 on each sale. That's a daily profit of £45.50 and a
weekly profit of £318.50. That's not a bad start with one
product!
You remember, in the home study
course, how I showed you how to automate your listings - well
once your first product is up and running on auto-pilot, you
then move on to product number 2.
Do exactly the same again. Set
yourself a profit target and work out the number of sales you
need to achieve that. Once you are consistently reaching your
targets, add product number 3.
And so on.....Rinse and Repeat!
Rinse and Repeat as many times as you want! (See it's not
Rocket Science is it).
There are thousands of people in
the UK including myself, earning a very comfortable living from
eBay using this simple method. I want you to be one of those
people and trust me, if you copy what I do, you will
be!
I hope I have managed to motivate
you in some small way! The most important thing is to get your
first product up and running - that's the hardest part. Once
you've done it once you'll see how easy it is and will be
itching to get on to product numbers 2, 3 and 4 etc!
Until next week, as always I
wish you the best of success,
Amanda
