This Is Your Year!
Hello!
So here we are 8 days in to a brand new year and I would like to wish you a
very happy and successful 2010.
First a quick update on ‘sledge vigil’. You may recall me purchasing a
couple of sledges from eBay a little while back in anticipation of a decent snowfall. Well, they finally got their
first outing on Tuesday this week and I am pleased to report that daughter number two’s ‘sledge vigil’ has at last
come to an end and I am no longer being subjected to disappointed sideways glances - thank goodness! All is well in
the O’Brien household once more!
So, on to something other than the weather and with all the changes that
eBay implemented in the later part of 2009, you could be forgiven for asking yourself just what will they dream up
this year! Will there be any more big changes? Will you be able to continue selling on eBay and make a comfortable
living? If you haven’t started selling on eBay yet, you might even be asking yourself if eBay really is the best
route to follow to help you towards your financial goals this year.
Personally, I have absolutely every faith in eBay for 2010. Yes I know that
not everyone has been impressed with some of the changes eBay introduced for sellers last year, but everything has
to evolve and your business must evolve too. If you can adapt to change then you will go far, but that is simply
the problem with many people – they don’t like change. No-one really likes change – we all like being in our own
little comfort zones with everything ticking along – but to be honest, sitting in a comfort zone isn’t really going
to help you achieve your goals.
As I mentioned briefly in last weeks newsletter, New Year’s Day this year
was very significant to me because it was the very day exactly 5 years ago that I decided to make my own changes.
If I hadn’t made that decision I wouldn’t be sat here writing this now. I would still be working for someone else,
seeing less of my family and generally plodding from one day to the next in a state of
limbo.
But because I made a decision, the last 5 years have been an awakening for
me. I have no regrets. I have made many mistakes along the way of course, but no regrets, which is why I urge you
to push on with your dreams of a comfortable, flexible lifestyle and make 2010 the year that you embrace change
just like I did.
eBay will remain the best and importantly, the easiest place for you to
start your own business in 2010 and I’m pretty sure it will do for a good few years yet! After all where else can
you start a business with very little capital, with low overheads, minimal risk and literally thousands upon
thousands of ready made visitors from all over the world? It’s a ready made starting block and after last years
changes to the site it’s likely that this year there will be far fewer – probably just a few tweaks here and there,
but nothing major, which will ensure that you are able to get a good grip on exactly what you should be doing to
make your eBay business a success.
But, what will be important is that you ensure you strive to be an
excellent seller. Build your inventory, expand your sales and make sure that your customer service is top notch so
that you can achieve ‘Top Rated Seller’ status. Believe me; this will open many doors for you on eBay including
increased trust and confidence from buyers and the chance to use ‘Featured Listings’ which will really help your
sales soar. Yes, featured listings will cost you extra but your increase in sales will far outweigh the
fees.
As I write this I totally understand that you might be wondering exactly
how you can do all these things and finally achieve your goal, but as I have always promised, I am here to help you
on your eBay journey throughout 2010 and beyond with the greatest of ease.
One of my ambitions is to ensure that you know exactly how to get the best
out of your eBay business because as I have often said, I genuinely want you to succeed. I have been in the very
position you are in right now so I know what it’s like – the frustrations, the excitement, the mistakes and the
sheer joy when you get something absolutely right and the orders come flying
in.
And that’s why I have been busy beavering away over the past few months,
working really hard on some brand new material for you which – and this is the important bit – will teach you not
only how to pick the right products to sell on eBay, but also how to describe and list them properly so that people
just have to buy from you! Plus, I’ve also tried and tested some simple methods that with a tiny amount of effort
will help you to double or even triple the amount of visitors your eBay listings receive. And you know what that
means don’t you? The more views, the more sales so long as you have listed correctly in the first
place!
Knowing what to sell and where to find it, knowing how to list it and
knowing how to get it seen by as many people who are actively looking for that product as possible coupled with
efficient customer service and dispatch times will all contribute to you running a really profitable eBay business
and in turn achieving ‘Top Rated Seller’ status and so you should be thinking about your plan of action for 2010
right now.
Will this be the year that you go for it? If you haven’t started selling on
eBay yet, you can learn from me how to get started from scratch even if you have no previous experience of the
site. Make the decision to do it now.
If you are already selling on eBay then make a concerted effort to learn
from me exactly how to expand your business, increase your sales and get up there with the other top sellers. I
promise that whether you are a ‘newbie’ or you have some experience, I can help you with all of
this.
I have got loads of ideas, secrets, strategies, suppliers and more - none
of which I intend keeping to myself!
I am extremely excited about all this because during 2010 it’s ‘no holds
barred’. I will tell it like it is and I sincerely hope that you will be by my side this year, just as I want to be
by yours…
